Melanotan II testing in Canada

The other half of the closest pair we test. Melanotan II and PT-141 sit one dalton apart, and PT-141 is what Melanotan II becomes as it breaks down.

The amide form of a cyclic heptapeptide

A cyclic seven-residue peptide, the C-terminal amide form. No approved pharmaceutical version exists anywhere, so there is no reference product against which a vial can be checked.

Residues
7, cyclic
Formula
C50H69N15O9
Mol. weight

Also called
MT-II, MT2

One dalton, and a degradation path

One dalton, and it is not random

PT-141 is the acid form of this molecule and a dalton heavier. It is also what Melanotan II degrades into. So a vial can drift toward PT-141 on the shelf, meaning the ratio between the two says something about how the material has been stored, not only how it was made.

No reference product

Melanotan II has never been approved in any jurisdiction. There is no legitimate manufacturing chain, no pharmacopoeial monograph, and nothing official to compare a sample against. The analysis is the only evidence there is.

Ring closure

As with PT-141, incomplete cyclisation leaves linear material 18 daltons heavier. It is a routine synthesis failure and a routine finding.

1024.2  vs  1025.2

Melanotan II against PT-141 — one dalton apart, about 0.1%

The gap between them is one nitrogen-for-oxygen swap at the end of the chain. Why weighing the molecule is the only way to tell.

What your certificate reports

  1. Identity — confirmed from precursor-to-product-ion transitions on a triple quadrupole instrument, not inferred from retention time.
  2. Purity — measured at the quantifying transition, with the method named on the report.
  3. Net peptide content — quantified against an external calibration curve and reported as its own figure, in milligrams. Why this is a different number from purity.
  4. Peak data — the chromatographic results behind each figure, printed on the certificate rather than held back.

Common questions

How much sample do you need?

One unopened vial. Detailed posting instructions arrive with your order confirmation, immediately after you pay.

Does it need to be shipped cold?

No. Lyophilised peptides travel safely at room temperature, which is how nearly all samples reach us.

Who actually performs the analysis?

An independent Ontario laboratory. Every certificate we issue names the facility that ran it — we are a testing service, not a laboratory, and we would rather say so than let you find out from the report.

What if the result comes back bad?

You get the result. We do not soften findings, and we do not charge differently depending on what the analysis shows.

Can I verify the certificate is genuine?

Yes. Every certificate carries an identifier that anyone can check against our records, including the vendor you bought from.
