An analogue of ACTH(4-7) with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail attached, developed in Russia and never approved in North America. Short peptides like this are cheap and straightforward to synthesise, which changes the shape of the risk.

Why small peptides disappoint

The vial is mostly not peptide

Peptides are purified as salts. A trifluoroacetate or acetate counterion pairs with every basic site on the molecule, and for a small peptide those counterions are a large fraction of what you weigh.

Residual water adds more. A vial that genuinely contains the right compound at high purity can still hold materially less peptide than the label claims, and no purity figure will tell you so. This is the distinction that catches people out.

The acetylated variant

N-acetyl-Semax is a separate compound, 42 daltons heavier, and both are sold under the same name. So is the Semax amidate variant. A certificate that reports only the name has not told you which of the three is in the vial.

Cheap to make, so what is the incentive?

Substitution is less likely here than with the expensive compounds. Underfilling is more likely, because the margin comes from how little you put in rather than from what you put in instead.

What your certificate reports

  1. Identity — confirmed from precursor-to-product-ion transitions on a triple quadrupole instrument, not inferred from retention time.
  2. Purity — measured at the quantifying transition, with the method named on the report.
  3. Net peptide content — quantified against an external calibration curve and reported as its own figure, in milligrams. Why this is a different number from purity.
  4. Peak data — the chromatographic results behind each figure, printed on the certificate rather than held back.

How much sample do you need?

Does it need to be shipped cold?

No. Lyophilised peptides travel safely at room temperature, which is how nearly all samples reach us.

Who actually performs the analysis?

An independent Ontario laboratory. Every certificate we issue names the facility that ran it — we are a testing service, not a laboratory, and we would rather say so than let you find out from the report.

What if the result comes back bad?

You get the result. We do not soften findings, and we do not charge differently depending on what the analysis shows.

Can I verify the certificate is genuine?

Yes. Every certificate carries an identifier that anyone can check against our records, including the vendor you bought from.
